This competition date is being changed. Sorry for any inconvenience but Danny & Ang are going to Hawaii and they can’t get out of it. We will post as soon as we know the date change. Most likely it will be the middle of September.

Competition is on! AT GUNLOCK RES.
from I-15 take the Bluff Street exit North. Left On Sunset BLVD. stay on this road for about 15 miles through Santa Clara and past Kayenta & the Shivwits Indian Reservation. Take right fork in road 8 miles reservoir on left.

Registration Fees:
$35 entry fee for members and $52.00 for non members ALL Divisions
Park Entrance fee $7.00 per vehicle
Spectators Welcome

Registration 8 - 10 AM

Competition begins @ 10:30 AM
Awards Ceremony -at lake immediately following competition
Raffle tickets will be sold throughout comp. $1.00

The tournaments will follow the structure below:
1. Divisions:
We will be featuring the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Outlaw/PRO, Masters (over 30), Women’s division, and Wakeskate divisions. (Women are also allowed and encouraged to compete in their respective classes against the men).

2. Trick list for each division are as follows:
• Beginner – No inverts and no spins above 180’s
• Intermediate – One (1) invert allowed and no spins above 360’s
• Advanced – Up to Three (3) inverts allowed plus 180’s, 360’s and 540 spins (spins do not count toward invert limit)
• Outlaw/Pro, Masters,Wakeskate and Women - Anything goes!

3. Format - Advanced | Intermediate | Beginner | Masters | Women Divisions:
• Maximum of 60 riders total
• Each rider will have two (2) passes for his/her run
• Two (2) fall limit
• Only tricks landed will count towards your invert/spin limit

4. Outlaw/Open Division:
• Maximum of 30 riders
• Top 8 riders advance to final round.
• Two (2) passes/Two (2) falls in first round
• Five (5) minute ride / unlimited falls in final round

5. Masters (over 30)
• Minimum 5 Riders to compete
• Please encourage friends & family members over 30 years old to participate

6. Bring your own life jacket, board, & rope (optional)

7. Packing list:

June Competition Canceled Due To Fires

Well, fires Northwest of Saint George caused the entire Gunlock area to be evacuated. We showed up early only to be chased off by the police and fire fighters in the area. Due to certain restrictions, the contest was canceled, but there was still some good wakeboarding done at Quail Creek Reservoir.

Thanks to Jess Farnes and Dusty Oliverson (who sacrificed a trailer wheel) for bringing boats for people to ride on. The water was a bit choppy, but good times were had.

Keep riding and get ready for the next comp coming up in July! LDC has a ton of great prizes to hand out at the next one. See ya there!

LDC in St. George Magazine

Those of you in St. George, check Tuesday’s (May 3) issue of the Spectrum. In it is the latest St. George Magazine. On page 60 you will find a great article about wakeboarding, wakeskating, and wake surfing. We were contacted by St. George Magazine with questions about wakeboarding. We helped them with some info on the sport and some pretty pictures that Justin Stephens of Liquid Force Films hooked us up with.

The article is a good one, and it doesn’t lie. You can get better this year with some coaching. Make all that money invested into equipment pay off, learn how to rip it up! Drop us a line to plan your coaching trip this year.

Hey LDC fans! We’ve got 3 wakeboard competitions planned for this year at the moment. The location is planned for Gunlock, but may change, check back for more details. Here are the dates:

June 18
July 16
August 27

We’re doing some site mainenence, so bear with us for a bit. LDC is excited for the upcoming year. We’re looking to do some more coaching and events altogether this year, including some events at the St. George skate park. E-mail us with any questions.
